A Young Man in Rivne to Be Tried for Car Fraud

The offender had previously been held criminally liable for similar crimes. He faces a sentence of 3 to 5 years in prison for his new actions.

This is reported by Rivne24

The investigation revealed that in April 2025, a 23-year-old resident of Rivne promised a 30-year-old resident of Ternopil region via messenger to bring an “Audi” car from abroad for further disassembly into parts. The fraudster showed his passport and assured that the terms would be fulfilled, after which the victim transferred 74,500 hryvnias to the fraudster’s bank card.

After this, the offender informed the client about a delay in the delivery of the car and offered a lucrative deal: to bring a “Land Rover” for 5 thousand dollars. To discuss the details, the men met in Rivne, where the 30-year-old Ternopil resident handed over cash to the suspect.

For a long time, the fraudster provided various excuses for the delays in the cars, but the “goods” were never delivered. Thus, the 23-year-old resident of Rivne defrauded the victim of 282,450 hryvnias.

The offender has been notified of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud committed under martial law that caused significant harm to the victim).

The investigation has completed the pre-trial investigation, and the materials of the criminal proceedings have been sent to court.
