This is reported by Rivne24

This December turned out to be abnormally warm, except for the third decade when an ultra-polar intrusion of arctic air occurred, caused by the strengthening of a powerful Scandinavian anticyclone.

At the end of the month, weather conditions were influenced by a series of cyclones, leading to an increase in air temperature and strengthening winds.

The average air temperature recorded by the meteorological stations in Dubno, Rivne, and Sarny was +1.3°C, which is 2.7°C above the climatic norm.

The lowest temperature was recorded on the night of December 25, when the thermometer dropped to -15°C. In contrast, the highest temperatures were observed on December 5, 10, and 11, when maximum readings reached +9°C.

Throughout the month, the average daily temperature fluctuated between -11°C and +7°C. Each day in December showed deviations from the climatic norm, which on certain days reached 8-9°C.

According to observations, the total amount of precipitation was 24.7 mm, which is 61% of the climatic norm.

Atmospheric fronts led to light to moderate precipitation in the form of rain, drizzle, wet snow, and snow. Fog was observed at the beginning and end of the month, and wind speeds reached 15-18 m/s from December 27 to 31.

From December 24, a snow cover began to form in the Rivne Region, with a maximum height of 5-7 cm recorded on December 31.
