Investigators established that a 44-year-old driver of an “Opel Astra,” a resident of the village of Rokytne in the Kostopil territorial community, failed to reduce speed and struck a 14-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the roadway at an uncontrolled crosswalk. After the traffic accident, the driver left the scene.

The police quickly located both the vehicle and the driver, who later confessed to the crime.
The 44-year-old resident of the Rivne district has been charged with committing a crime.
