According to information, the scammers deceived 16 residents of Rivne Region for an amount approaching half a million hryvnias.
The criminals create fake advertisements using real photos of products at discounted prices. They invite potential buyers to switch to a messenger for more convenient sharing of additional images or video reviews of the products.
After that, the fraudsters send a payment link, asking for bank card details. When the money is deducted, the payment system reports an error, indicating that the transaction did not go through, and suggests trying again. After this, the “sellers” stop responding.
