In the Varash district, over 200 cases of leukosis among cows owned by individuals have been recorded since the beginning of 2025. Experts strongly recommend avoiding the purchase of dairy products from street vendors.

As a result of mandatory anti-epizootic, therapeutic, preventive, and laboratory-diagnostic measures, 210 animals infected with leukosis have been identified in households since the start of the year.
Experts note that keeping and grazing leukosis-infected animals in private households contributes to the further spread of the disease among livestock. To prevent the spread of this infectious disease in herds, farms, or household plots, the following is prohibited:
- grazing leukosis-infected animals together with healthy ones in common herds;
- selling milk to dairy processing enterprises, markets, etc.;
- keeping an infected animal in the same premises as a healthy one.
Citizens are strongly advised to purchase raw cow’s milk only at agro-food markets, where cow owners sell milk and dairy products after conducting veterinary-sanitary examinations and having documents confirming the health of the animals.
