In Rivne Region, a Father Accuses the Military Recruitment Center of Cruel Treatment of His Son

According to Vitaliy, a yellow “Volkswagen T5” car pinned his son against a fence. After the boy lost consciousness, he was taken out of the vehicle by two individuals in black civilian clothing and four in camouflage, who, without any identifying marks, threw him into a car.

When Vitaliy’s son regained consciousness, he found himself in the same yellow van of the Military Recruitment Center, where his phone was confiscated and he was beaten. As a result of the beating, the boy suffered broken ribs, a leg injury, and numerous bruises.

He spent the night in the basement of the Military Recruitment Center in Sarny without medical assistance. In the morning, he was taken to a military medical commission (VLC). The doctors discovered lacerations on the boy’s face and body, an injured arm, and a broken left leg. His condition was critical.

One of the VLC doctors, noticing the seriousness of the patient’s condition, referred him to the hospital for urgent surgical intervention.

“What are you doing??? In what country have we woken up? When did a uniform stop meaning protection and become a cover for cruelty? I did not fight for this. My comrades did not die for this. And if we remain silent now — tomorrow it could be any child, mother, wife, or daughter,” Vitaliy Usachik addressed the Military Recruitment Center officials.

According to the police, the boy’s mother has filed a complaint with law enforcement. A criminal proceeding has been opened under part 1 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Intentional moderate bodily harm”).

Currently, an investigation and verification of the actions of the Military Recruitment Center officials are ongoing.
