In Rivne Region, Five Defenders of Ukraine Laid to Rest

In Rivne Region, five defenders of Ukraine were honored: Maksym Nikityuk, Volodymyr Honcharuk, Vyacheslav Holyshev, Ruslan Mykolaychuk, and Yevhen Skobel.

Maksym Nikityuk, a native of Rivne, was born on January 21, 1992. He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fall of 2023. After sustaining an injury, he returned to the front, but unfortunately, he was killed on February 2, 2026, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kharkiv region.

Volodymyr Honcharuk, born in the village of Kopytkove in the Zdolbuniv region, began his service in 2022 and later signed a contract. He served as a grenade launcher in reconnaissance and participated in dangerous operations. Since March 2025, he had been considered missing in action, and DNA testing confirmed his death on March 4, 2025, in the Kursk region.

Vyacheslav Holyshev, born in Sarny, joined the territorial defense of Rivne from the first days of the war. In July 2025, he became part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, performing duties on the front lines as a soldier in the 225th Separate Assault Regiment. Unfortunately, his life was cut short on January 25, 2026, in the Sumy region.

Ruslan Mykolaychuk, hailing from the village of Tomashhorod in the Rokytne community, served as a sniper in a mechanized battalion. He bravely fulfilled his duty to Ukraine and was killed on February 10, 2026, in the Poltava region.

Yevhen Skobel, born on August 12, 1996, in the village of Tarakaniv, defended Ukraine’s freedom until his last breath and aspired for a better future for all. He went missing on February 5, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kursk region, and his death was confirmed.
