A court proceeding has been initiated in the Rivne district against a man who systematically committed domestic violence.
This is reported by Rivne24
Law enforcement officials documented that over the course of a year, a 61-year-old son-in-law, while under the influence of alcohol, repeatedly inflicted psychological and physical abuse on his 75-year-old mother-in-law, who is disabled.
The police filed administrative reports against the suspect twice, and later opened a criminal case. The investigator has already informed the man of the charges, and the pre-trial investigation has been successfully completed. The prosecutor overseeing the case has submitted it to the court.
Mitigating circumstances in this case include the defendant’s genuine remorse and his active cooperation with law enforcement. However, aggravating factors include the commission of the crime while intoxicated and the violence against an elderly person.
