In Rivne Region, two fallen soldiers were laid to rest

Farewell ceremonies were held in Rivne Region for two servicemen: Serhiy Yatsyuk from the city of Dubno and Serhiy Velihdan from the Sarny community.

Serhiy Yatsyuk, born on March 19, 1971, in Dubno, joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, bravely defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country. He died on May 22, 2024, in Donetsk region while holding the rank of soldier.

Serhiy Velihdan, who was born on August 16, 1971, lived in the village of Lyukhcha. In 2019, he signed a contract and participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). He served in the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi for three years. After the onset of the full-scale invasion, he again took up arms to defend Ukraine. In June 2022, he was mobilized to the 24th Separate Assault Battalion “Aidar,” where he served as a senior shooter in the assault unit. Despite sustaining injuries, he returned to his comrades after rehabilitation and continued his service. On November 3, 2023, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region, he went missing, and in May of this year, it became known that he had died on November 6, 2023.
