The criminal activity of a 26-year-old resident of the Shpaniv Territorial Community was documented by investigators from Police Department No. 2 (Zarichne village) together with migration police officers and border guards, with the support of the Criminal Analysis Department and under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office.
The police discovered that the man promised two conscripts that they could leave Ukraine without hindrance for 8500 hryvnias.
According to the agreement, the clients transferred him 4000 hryvnias as an advance payment, while the remaining 4500 hryvnias were to be paid after he delivered them to the border area.
However, during the transportation of the “clients” to their destination, the taxi driver was apprehended by law enforcement officers.
The offender was arrested in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, informed him of the suspicion of committing a crime as stipulated in part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine).
The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of night house arrest for the man.
