27-year-old Vasyl Shchur was a young, cheerful, and kind-hearted man who lived with a great zest for life. He was born and raised in Sarny, where he diligently acquired knowledge and professional skills, always striving for self-improvement. Before becoming a soldier, he worked as a driver and dispatcher at the “Skyba” bakery and the “Pan Kurchak” meat processing plant, where he was valued for his friendliness and reliability.
Since April 2024, Vasyl served devotedly in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as part of the 156th Separate Mechanized Brigade, where he held the position of UAV platoon commander with the call sign “Patsyuk”.
He bravely defended Ukraine, standing up for his comrades and his homeland. Unfortunately, while carrying out a combat mission in the Donetsk region, he sustained serious injuries. His family hoped for his recovery, but on November 9, 2025, Vasyl sadly passed away in the hospital.
