Veres Explains Reasons for Contract Termination with Taranuha

The sports director of Veres club, Yuriy Habovda, commented on the decision to terminate the collaboration with footballer Rostyslav Taranuha.

Habovda noted that Taranuha is a “very nice guy and a quality footballer.” He emphasized that the player’s personal and professional qualities can serve as an example for others, but at the moment, the team already has three players in that position: Ndukwe, Eren, and Wally. Considering the competition and the club’s philosophy, the decision to terminate the contract was made, which turned out to be optimal for both parties.

When asked why the club signed Taranuha if there were already players in that position, Habovda explained:

“At that time, Ndukwe and Wally were not available — both were in the infirmary. The team urgently needed to resolve the situation, so we turned to our scout to find a Ukrainian free agent for the position. Out of eight candidates, we chose Rostyslav, and that decision proved to be successful.”

In response to the question of whether it was not obvious that the return of injured players would lead to a short-term collaboration, Habovda replied:

“Yes, they missed about two months, and during that period we needed a quick solution. As a result, the situation turned out to be beneficial for both parties: Taranuha gained playing experience, which will help him find a new club more easily.”
