Veres started the match actively, and right at the beginning, Andrei Gonsalves had two half-chances. First, Fabrizio Yan sent him a perfect pass, but Zorya’s defense stopped the attack. Later, in a similar situation, Oleksandr Saputin emerged victorious in a duel with Gonsalves.

Zorya managed to defend and score. Junior Reis delivered a cross from the left flank, after which Kai Tsipot won the ball in the air. Dejan Popara picked up the ball and sent it back into the penalty area, where Artem Slesar successfully executed a scissors kick, leaving the goalkeeper no chance.

In the moment of the goal, the Zorya player struck Daniil Checher in the face, but after reviewing VAR, referee Serhiy Zadyrian awarded the goal.

Shortly after, Zorya could have scored again, but Dmytro Klyots gifted the ball to the opponents, and Junior Reis failed to hit the empty net.

Before the break, Zorya had another opportunity to increase their lead, but Veres escaped conceding a goal when a corner resulted in a counterattack, in which the Luhansk team failed to capitalize on a four-on-one situation.

At the beginning of the second half, Veres had a chance when Denys Ndyukve, who came on as a substitute, outplayed Zorya’s goalkeeper, but Fabrizio failed to hit the target.

After that, Valentyn Horokh made several incredible saves, keeping Veres’s hopes for a comeback alive. However, a mistake by Horokh in the 60th minute led to Zorya’s second goal – Roman Vantukh scored accurately from a distance.

Despite the defeat, Veres continued to fight. Oleksandr Saputin managed to deflect a header from Denys Ndyukve, while Bohdan Kushnirenko from Zorya also had a chance to score.

Thus, Veres suffered defeat and ended their five-match unbeaten streak in encounters with Luhansk’s Zorya.
