As a result of enemy shelling while carrying out a combat mission, soldier Serhiy Volodymyrovych Bortnyk, a shooter from the 1st rifle squad of the 2nd rifle platoon of the 5th rifle company of the 2nd rifle battalion, born in 1986 and a resident of the village of Stepanhorod, was killed.

Serhiy Volodymyrovych died on May 27, 2024, but until recently was considered missing in action.
The Hero’s farewell will take place tomorrow, January 29.
Arrival at the square of the village of Volodymyrets is scheduled for 11:30, after which the procession will proceed along Soborna Street to the intersection with Hrushevskoho Street, and then to the settlement of Stepanhorod, where a memorial service will be held at the local church.
The burial of the fallen will take place at the local cemetery.
