The Children’s Cup of 2025 in Rivne Region has successfully concluded, having taken place over eight stages in various cities of the region. The competition was held in two age categories: 2011-2014 birth years (Tournament A) and 2015 and younger (Tournament B).

During the competition, the top eight chess players from each stage received points: 1st place – 10 points, 2nd place – 8 points, 3rd place – 6 points, 4th place – 5 points, 5th place – 4 points, 6th place – 3 points, 7th place – 2 points, 8th place – 1 point. For the final standings, only the six best results of each participant from the eight stages were considered. The winners of Tournaments A and B were the players with the highest total points, with separate calculations for boys and girls.
The competitions were conducted using the Swiss system over nine rounds, with a time control of 10 minutes for each participant plus 5 seconds per move (rapid chess).

This tournament enjoys great popularity, attracting a large number of young chess players. The highest number of participants at a stage was 33 in the senior category and 38 in the junior category.
The battle for victory continued until the last round, as in three categories, 2-4 young chess players were contending for the win.
In Tournament A among boys, the winner was KOVAL DAVID, a student of the Intellectual Development Center “Sutizya” (Kostopil, coach Oleksandr Kozak). Thanks to his successful play in stages 5-8, he managed to surpass the leader of the competition OSMOLOVYCH ARTEM, a representative of the chess school “CUP” (Volodymyrets, coach Dmytro Andriyev). Third place went to TSYTSYURA ILLYA, a student of DYuSSh No. 1 (Rivne, coach Vasyl Daniyliuk), who was hindered by his absence in two stages from improving his results.
Among girls in Tournament A, the winner was KALININA NIKA, a student of the chess school “Chess King” (Stepan, coach Roman Boryshkevych), who won all six stages, leaving behind SYMONYUK ANASTASIA and HAIDYSH ZLATA, students of the chess school “CUP” (Volodymyrets, coach Dmytro Andriyev).
In Tournament B among boys, the victory went to STRILCHUK SEVERYN (Rivne), who competed against MOROCHENETS KOSTYANTYN (Varash, coach Oleksandr Makoyedov). Third place was taken by the young DERKACH ARTEM, a student of the chess school “CUP” (Volodymyrets, coach Dmytro Andriyev).
Among girls in Tournament B, the victory was contested by young talents from Rivne, students of coach Vasyl Daniyliuk from DYuSSh No. 1: SHEVCHIK BOZHENA, OKHMAK MARIANNA and OKHMAK KAMILA.
The award ceremony for the winners and prizewinners of the Cup will take place on December 13 during the tournament “Saint Nicholas in Every House”.
