A court process has begun in the Rivne region against a 36-year-old resident of Sarny district, who is accused of raping his underage stepdaughter.

The crime first occurred in a forest area in 2023, when the girl was only 13 years old. After that, in January and February of this year, the stepfather again committed violence against the child while being alone with her at home.
The authorities learned about these horrific events only in April 2023, after a community social work specialist reported the case.
At the time of his arrest, the perpetrator was already wanted for desertion from a military unit. He was detained a few days later, and the investigation charged him under parts 3 and 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The accused is currently held in custody without the possibility of bail. He faces a punishment of imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years for his actions.
The man denies his guilt.
