A perpetrator in Rivne has been sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment for robbing a local resident.

The man, who had several previous convictions, was last sentenced in April of this year for a similar crime. At that time, he received 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment. He is currently in a detention center.
The robber was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and he was informed of the charges against him.
The investigator has completed the pre-trial investigation, and the materials of the criminal proceedings have been submitted to the court.
Mitigating circumstances include sincere remorse and full voluntary compensation for the victim’s losses. At the same time, no aggravating circumstances were found.
⚖️ Recently, the Rivne City Court announced the verdict: 5 years of imprisonment.
The verdict has not yet entered into legal force, so it can be appealed within 30 days.
Recall that at the beginning of March of this year, a 47-year-old resident of Rivne reported to the police that an unknown man had pulled 2400 hryvnias from his backpack on Danila Halitsky Street and fled.
In less than an hour, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Rivne District Police Department identified the perpetrator—a 35-year-old resident of Rivne—who was detained on Naberezhna Street. Law enforcement officials found and seized 1674 hryvnias from him.
