Recently in Rivne, on Basivkutska Street, patrol officers stopped a Mitsubishi Outlander vehicle based on a tip-off. During their interaction with the 43-year-old driver, the inspectors noticed signs of drug intoxication and suggested he undergo a medical examination, to which the driver agreed. The results of the examination will be known later.
In the vehicle, besides the driver, there was also a 40-year-old passenger. The police conducted a surface check and discovered several packages containing a plant substance that, according to preliminary data, may be narcotic.
Another incident occurred on Vyacheslav Chornovil Street, where police noticed a man who began to flee upon seeing the inspectors. He was apprehended, and during the search, a plant substance resembling a drug was also found on him.
Investigators have opened a criminal proceeding under part 1 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for the illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, or sending of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances without the intent to sell.
