Visit of Metropolitan Epiphanius to the Ecumenical Patriarchate on the Occasion of the 7th Anniversary of the Tomos

As part of the celebration of the 7th anniversary of the granting of the Tomos on the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, a delegation from the OCU began an official visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The delegation is led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and all Ukraine.

In addition to Metropolitan Epiphanius, the delegation includes the Secretary General of the Holy Synod, Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnytsia and Bar, the Deputy Head of the Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Ilarion of Rivne and Ostroh, as well as other representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The delegation was welcomed by representatives of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Ukrainian diplomats led by the Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul. Following this, with the blessing of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, a meeting and dinner took place at the Chalcidon Metropolitanate.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius, along with hierarchs and clergy of the OCU, visited the residence of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Phanar. In the Patriarchal Church of Saint George the Great Martyr, the Primate of the OCU and members of the delegation venerated the holy relics and prayed during the Great Blessing of the Waters. At the end of the visit, His Beatitude blessed the present pilgrims.
